As she had hoped, the humans lived in harmony with the elves, embracing each other with warm hearts. They built a city, also called Elderine, together.

Time flew by, and Elderine city became larger and stronger. Alas, the monsters soon took their destruction to the south, seeking to eradicate the remaining pieces of Bijou.

They began their slaughter once again. Elves and humans fought back the best they could but their fortress was no match for the countless monsters.
Epith and his men then appeared. They confounded their betrayal by striking the humans and elves with upgraded power. The Elves and Humans’ defences were in a desperate situation. Many had lost their lives, children were grieving in despair.
Elderine decided she needed to stop this massacre right away - by sacrificing herself. Eventually, when the sun rose and monsters hid, Elderine went to see Epith alone.

“Epith, you once cherished and loved the living. How could you turn into such an evil person? The oaks and lime trees you loved, all of them turned to ashes and fell into oblivion. Do you not morn the loss of shade on a beautiful summer’s day?”

“My beautiful and naïve sister, they are all gods’ creations anyway. Even if they are all burnt down, it can be created again at any time - it is in the gods’ power . If we just destroy all the parts of Bijou!”

“Epith! That is not true! Have you forgotten the power of Bijou? It colours the woods, makes the land more fertile! You’re trying to destroy that power! You mustn’t be controlled by the gods’ foolish jealousy!”

“That’s enough! I don’t want to hear anymore! Go away!” - and with that he locked her in a cell.

The sacred elven magic had been tainted by darkness. Epith’s blasphemous words and his darkened heart were no longer those of the innocent elf once blessed by Legel.

“Epith! Please come back!”

Her scream echoed around Epith. He ignored it. His beautiful sister, smart and wise Elderine… Everyone followed and respected her - she believed that they shared her sense of honour. However, one moment of jealousy estranged him from Elderine. He reached out to the forces of darkness, everything was smeared with evil in a blink of an eye.
He believed it was too late for him. He was already defiled. He thought he had only his conscience to wrestle with…

Then there was a sudden flash, the sky was filled with a bright light. It was the first shining light Epith had seen since he was seduced by the darkness. He was overwhelmed…

“Elderine!”

Someone’s voice - Epith watched as a glowing man rescued his sister from the crumbling prison.
It was a human.
A weakling…

“This can’t be! How can a human being destroy the prison of darkness? It was created with the power of the gods!”

A human being destroyed the prison of darkness built by god to ensnare Elderine.

This human was dazzling. He shone so brightly that Epith couldn’t open his eyes. Epith could not believe what was happening.

“No!!”

A blade came flying towards Epith as the voice of his sister echoed one more time. He felt no pain. He opened his eyes to see his sister before him, a blade through her chest.
Elderine had blocked her savour’s attack with her own body.

“Sir - Epith!!”

His elves rushed in. Roumen, for that was the knight’s name, picked Elderine up and escaped.
Epith kneeled in silence, giving no orders at all. He sat there, crying.
